Choices: An Inspirational Presentation

Raised in a traditional middle-class family, Addie had the picture-perfect childhood, or so it appeared from the outside. But like many families, hers was far from perfect. It wasn’t until adulthood that Addie recognized how family dynamics contributed to her self-destructive behavior that began during her teen years.

Addie spent 24 years off and on living the life of what she refers to as a “blackout artist.” She managed to keep this part of her life in the shadows while maintaining a professional career and providing for her son. When her son became an adult and was out on his own, Addie reached a turning point – make a change or die. Celebrating almost three years of sobriety, Addie is now sharing her story in hopes of empowering others who are struggling to recover from life-alerting traumas. The Choices Series will be her debut presentation.
