More from COVID-19/Coronavirus

  • Masks: NM Follows the CDC

New Mexicans are encouraged to continue adhering to COVID-safe practices. All individuals, including those who are fully vaccinated, should continue to wear well-fitted masks where required by localities, tribal entities, and individual businesses. The state fully supports businesses and workplaces that may continue to require masks for employees and/or customers on the premises, regardless of vaccination status.

  • Daily NM COVID-19 Statistics: 200,650 (+223) cases, 4,113 Deaths (+1)

There were 36 new COVID 19 cases and one additional death in San Juan County reported on Friday by the Department of Health

  • *Updated* Navajo Nation Active COVID-19 Cases Total: 30,693 (+12), 1,291 Deaths (+5)

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 30,693, including four delayed reported cases.

  • San Juan County reaches TURQUOISE status

San Juan County was able to move to Turquoise status because it met two of the three Turquoise-level criteria during the last two reporting periods after reporting metrics were changed one week ago. San Juan County should be able to remain at the Turquoise level for at least four weeks. The only metric San Juan County missed was having 10 or fewer cases per 100,000 population, San Juan County had 28.8 cases.

  • NM Plans to Loosen Color-Coded Map Criteria Friday

As of Friday all Counties in New Mexico will either be green or turquoise. San Juan County will be in green status on Friday. The state also projected that 60% of state residents will be fully vaccinated by the end of June. If the state meets that projection, many COVID-19 restrictions would end at that time.

  • Navajo Nation prepares for YELLOW status Monday

The Navajo Department of Health continues to evaluate daily cases and other data to assess the reopening of flea markets, roadside markets, and youth programs. Under “Yellow Status,” gyms, recreation facilities, and movie theaters are not allowed to reopen.
