Bonnie Adams has been interested in art since childhood. She started with pencil and charcoal sketching. As she worked through her career as a Registered Nurse, art provided comfort and outlet. In her 30s, she began to work in clay, at first throwing and hand building functional pots. She then moved to sculpture, using the human form to animate feelings and concerns. Eight years ago she was introduced to painting, working at first, in oil and then, adding acrylic. Many of her pieces lean toward the surrealistic as she allows her paint brush to deal with struggles and thoughts. Recently she has been drawn to portraits of people and nature. Finally, Bonnie sees Art as a means of healing and growth, a place where people of thought or culture can meet to find encouragement and solace.
