San Juan College HHPC will become COVID-19 Vaccination Site

This will continue every Wednesday and Thursday from 8 to 10 a.m., through March. Vaccine reservations are required and can be made through the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) at: https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org

The San Juan College Health and Human Performance Center (HHPC) gym will serve as a Point of Distribution (POD) site for COVID-Vaccinations Wednesday, January 20, and Thursday, January 21, from 8 to 10 a.m. This will continue every Wednesday and Thursday from 8 to 10 a.m., through March. Vaccine reservations are required and can be made through the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) at: https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org

Changes at the HHPC:

  • Beginning, Tuesday, January 19, and each week through March, the HHPC gym and track will close every Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m., and remain closed all day on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The gym and track will reopen on Fridays at 6 a.m. 

 

  • Group exercises classes will be held as scheduled, Wednesday, January 20, and Thursday, January 21, and every Wednesday and Thursday now through March. Please note these classes will be moved to either the Dance Room in room 55208 or the Aerobics Room in room 55209. For more information about the class locations, please ask the Service Desk personnel.

 

  • The HHPC Parking Lot also will be closed to members, faculty, staff and students from 6 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning January 20. The lot will remain closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays for members, faculty, staff and students through March. Please observe all traffic signs and traffic control personnel.

    San Juan County's test positivity rate fell from 5.01% to 2.65%, enough to move the county into the Yellow category. The average number of COVID-19 cases also fell to 10.5 per 100,000 people. In order to move to the Green level, test positivity must remain under 5% AND cases must be 8 per 100,000 people or less.

  • NM Modifies Red-Green Restrictions, Adds Turquoise Level

    The framework includes a new least restrictive level where all categories of business can operate indoors with minimal occupancy limitations, depending on the risk level of the activity. A county will reach this least restrictive level, the Turquoise Level, by meeting key health criteria for two consecutive two-week periods and effectively graduating out of the Red-Yellow-Green framework, provided the virus remains suppressed.

  • Local Governments Want to Double-Check NM's COVID Math

    The request from San Juan County and the City of Farmington comes as the state announces San Juan County missing moving from Red to Yellow on the NM Department of Health's COVID-19 map by scoring 0.01% above the state's positivity rate threshold. The communities have asked the state for their sources to verify the data use to make this calculation.

  • SoClose: San Juan County Misses COVID-19 Yellow Status by 0.01%

    In order to move from Red to Yellow on the statewide COVID-19 map, San Juan County's test positivity rate had to move below 5% for a 2-week period. In data released today, the county's test positivity rate between January 26-February 8, 2021 was 5.01%.

  • Local COVID-19 Testing Site Changes

    You still must register to test at Curative.com or by calling 1-888-702-9042. Choose the site in Farmington and answer a few questions to make an appointment to get tested.
