Farmington's Citizens Bank has announced plans to build a new headquarters building on the bank's current property in downtown Farmington.
Citizens Bank President Danny Beyhan says the new building will be between 36,000-38,000 square feet and two stories tall. Even though it will be smaller than the current Citizens Bank building, Beyhan says the new structure will modernize the bank's space and still allow room for growth.
Beyhan did not disclose the price tag for the new building. He added that despite having other options for a location, the board of directors for Citizens Bank was unanimous in wanted to keep their headquarters in downtown Farmington.
The new building will be constructed on the northwest corner of the bank's property at the intersection of West Main Street and Auburn Avenue. Beyhan expects a groundbreaking late this summer, with construction expected to take between 15-18 months.
