Small Plane Lands in Shiprock, Flips Over

The aircraft had landed successfully on the pavement. However, for unknown reasons, veered off the runway causing the aircraft to overturn. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined. The occupants of the aircraft were not injured.

The Shiprock Police District of the Navajo Police Department received a call at 10:12 a.m. reporting an aircraft had overturned on the Shiprock Airstrip. The responding officer reported a single engine aircraft was occupied by two people. The aircraft had landed successfully on the pavement. However, for unknown reasons, veered off the runway causing the aircraft to overturn. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined. The occupants of the aircraft were not injured.

The NPD will assist the Federal Aviation Administration in the review and investigation.
