The Farmington Public Library is preparing for its “Unearth a Story” summer reading program, which encourages kids and families to keep reading over the summer to prevent learning loss. Registration is open now through the Beanstack app and website, and participants can begin logging books on May 30 during the kickoff carnival. The program includes themed events all summer long, such as concerts, gaming tournaments, movies, crafts, 3D printing activities, a car show, and even a foam party for readers who complete the challenge. Readers can earn raffle tickets and prizes, including Legos, a 3D printer, smart glasses, and a KitchenAid mixer, by logging books and participating in activities. Library staff emphasized that the program is for all ages and encouraged families to read together and use Beanstack year-round for reading challenges and rewards.
