San Juan County Partnership: Surveys & Community Needs: Thomalisa Yazzie & Selece Gathings.Representatives from the San Juan County Partnership discussed the results of recent community surveys examining substance use trends, particularly the rise in polysubstance use among young adults in San Juan County. They highlighted the importance of community engagement, prevention efforts, and data-driven strategies to reduce opioid misuse, address stigma surrounding treatment, and provide safe, healthy opportunities for youth. The interview also introduced the Partnership's upcoming Youth Coalition, a new initiative designed to empower young people through leadership development, education, and positive activities while helping prevent substance misuse. Additionally, the organization celebrated its 35th anniversary and reaffirmed its commitment to improving community health through collaboration and prevention.
