Write To Publish: Book Drive & Story Sharing

Rather than a presentation this month, Write To Publish & Quill and Quest will host a children’s book drive to benefit Child Haven. Attendees are also invited to share 3-5 minutes of a favorite work or current work in progress during the event. This is also a great opportunity to network with local authors, do some Christmas shopping, and enjoy drinks and bakery items now that the bookstore’s new oven is installed!
Child Haven has given a few specifics on what they typically need:
- they have more tweens and teens than small children
- younger children would like storybooks, board books, and beginning readers
- many children are behind in school and reading skills, so books that help improve reading are appreciated
- older children like instructional books (crafts, art, drawing)
- boys like Guiness Record books, sports, trivia
- popular fiction for boys and girls - please no books with weapons, sexual activities, drug & alcohol use, or severe trauma topics
