August 25, 2026

One of Farmington’s most cherished traditions returns this fall as the Four Corners Balloon Rally takes to the skies September 25–27, 2026. The free, three-day festival brings together local families, visitors, and balloonists for mass ascensions, evening balloon glows, live music, and family entertainment.

Event Schedule:

Friday, September 25

· 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Lake Farmington Ascension

o Location: Lake Farmington (off-site viewing available at Saddleback and Lions Wilderness Parks)

o Details: Entry fees waived for the morning launch. No watercraft permitted on the lake during the launch.

· 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM: Evening Glow

o Location: San Juan College, Graduation Plaza

o Details: Sunset balloon displays, live concert entertainment, and family activities.

Saturday, September 26
· 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Morning Mall Ascension

o Location: Animas Valley Mall, 4601 E. Main St.

o Details: Spectators must enter via English Rd. or Largo St. as Main St. access will be restricted.

· 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Downtown Glow

o Location: Downtown Farmington, Civic Center Plaza

o Details: Glowing balloons, local vendors, family activities, and live entertainment.

Sunday, September 27

· 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Morning Mall Ascension

o Location: Animas Valley Mall, 4601 E. Main St.

o Details: Spectators must enter via English Rd. or Largo St. as Main St. access will be restricted.

In February, San Juan County Commissioners voted to seek judicial review of the New Mexico Racing Commission’s decision to authorize Western Gaming to move its racing license to Clovis, NM. The Racing Commission’s decision, at the request of Western Gaming, would have ended San Juan County’s long heritage of horse racing at a county-owned facility.
