Danielle Burbank is a local writer from the Farmington community but is originally from Crystal, New Mexico. She is a Navajo woman who wrote a book about the Navajo Code Takers for the young readers. She is a descendent of a Navajo and wrote this book as a way of teaching the youth about the efforts that these men did in World War II.

Eugene Joe b. 1951 is a Navajo sand artist from Tó, or Shiprock, NM. He is a descendant of a family of traditional Navajo sand painters. Since 1963 he has been using sand in a contemporary form with modern colorful iconography. Eugene also works in the reservation schools mentoring and teaching students Art.
