Gary Bernally is a 2-D Navajo artist and Vietnam Veteran who lives in Shiprock, NM but is originally from Arizona. Gary bases his artwork on the history of the Navajo People, the American Indian Relocation Program, Indian Activism, the occupation of Alcatraz and issues of cultural stereotypes of Native people in the Four Corners area. His colored pencil art images are based on social commentary of the 1960s-70s and the present.
