The interview focused on recent updates and achievements within the Central Consolidated School District as the school year comes to a close. Superintendent Steve Carlson discussed leadership changes at several schools, including the appointment of Ervin Trujillo as the new principal of Shiprock High School, while also highlighting staff appreciation efforts such as a $2,000 stipend for all district employees.

The conversation also celebrated student accomplishments, graduation events, robotics and JROTC achievements, and new career and technical education opportunities designed to prepare students for future careers. In addition, district leaders shared plans to expand career-focused programs and rebrand Career Prep High School into a new technical high school led largely by student input.
