Presbyterian Medical Services: PMS Community Compass/Navigation Center, Festival of Trees & More!

Jyl Adair from Presbyterian Medical Services discussed the many community services offered through the organization, including the growing success of the Community Compass in Farmington, which has already helped more than 220 people this year. The Community Compass serves as a one-stop resource center, providing free clothing, hygiene items, referrals, and access to partner agencies such as veterans services, housing support, and healthcare providers. The conversation also highlighted PMS’s annual Festival of Trees fundraiser, which supports local programs for behavioral health, medical care, and services for children and individuals with disabilities. Adair also shared updates on new mental health initiatives, including a 24-hour mobile crisis response team and an upcoming crisis triage center designed to provide support for individuals experiencing mental health emergencies. Throughout the interview, both speakers emphasized the importance of collaboration among local governments, healthcare providers, and nonprofits in addressing community needs across San Juan County.
