Fire Danger: #SanJuanCountyNM Fire & Rescue

San Juan County Fire and Rescue leaders discussed the growing wildfire risk across the region due to hot, dry, and windy conditions, which have already contributed to several recent fires. They emphasized the importance of fire prevention, particularly when performing activities such as welding, grinding, or using fireworks, and urged residents to have fire suppression tools readily available.

The officials also reviewed current fire restrictions, wildfire response efforts, and safety concerns surrounding Fourth of July celebrations. Additionally, they highlighted opportunities for community members to join the department as volunteer or full-time firefighters and described the training and support available to recruits.
