San Juan County Partnership "New Youth Coalition" : With Michelle Chavez, Makinsey Cole, & Scott Michlin

The Scott Michlin Morning Program

Thursday, August 27, 2026 - 22 minutes

This morning's interview highlights the launch of the new San Juan Youth Coalition, an after-school program designed for youth ages 13–18 in San Juan County. The coalition will be completely youth-led, allowing participants to choose activities such as art, playback theater, community service, and learning projects focused on local issues like bullying, peer pressure, and substance use.

The program aims to give young people a safe space to express themselves, build leadership skills, connect with others, and have their voices heard. The San Juan County Partnership is currently recruiting youth, schools, counselors, and community organizations to participate in the program beginning in September.
