The San Juan Symphony is kicking off its 41st season, titled “Larger Than Life,” with a spectacular opening concert, The Planets and Beyond. Music Director Thomas Hoiser discusses the powerful program featuring Gustav Holst’s The Planets, John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine, and music by Mélanie Bonis, performed by an expanded orchestra of more than 80 musicians.
The concert promises a visually and musically impressive experience for both longtime symphony-goers and newcomers. The interview also highlights upcoming events, including a special fundraiser and a November concert featuring cellist Tommy Mesa and Brahms’ Symphony No. 3.
