Jazz . . . You're My Only Hope! by the Civic Winds Jazz Orchestra

On Sunday, May the 4th at 7:00pm, the Civic Winds Jazz Orchestra will bring its own brand of swingin’ jazz & blues to Durango High School, CO. The ensemble, an offshoot of the larger Southwest Civic Winds organization, is a fifteen-piece, Ellington style jazz orchestra. They will perform jazz big band classics as well as blues and funk hits such as Earth Wind & Fire’s “Fantasy”, Cab Calloway’s, “Minnie the Moocher”, a modern rendition of the Beatles classic “Eleanor Rigby”, and many more.

The concert will also feature “Women’s Prerogative”, an all-women barbershop vocal ensemble. They will also perform modern barbershop renditions “Straighten Up & Fly Right”, “Go the Distance”, and more!
