San Juan College celebrated the grand opening of its new Student Health Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

The $2.2 million Student Health Center spans 2,652 square feet and is designed to provide accessible healthcare services on campus.

"We are profoundly grateful for the generous support that has made our new Student Health Center a reality," said Dr. Toni Hopper Pendergrass, President of San Juan College. "This $2.2 million facility was made possible through a $1.1 million federal appropriation secured by Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez, with the remaining $1.1 million funded by state severance tax bonds, thanks to our dedicated local legislative delegation.”

The center features two exam rooms, three offices for medical and behavioral health professionals, restrooms, storage areas, and additional support spaces.

“By offering on-campus medical and counseling services, we are ensuring that our students have easy access to the care they need, reinforcing San Juan College's unwavering commitment to health, wellness, and student success," Dr. Pendergrass added.

Key stakeholders, dignitaries, members of the SJC Board of Trustees, and San Juan College Administration will be in attendance to celebrate this significant achievement. The event will provide an opportunity to explore the center’s services and the positive impact it will have on student well-being.
