One Killed in US 550 Crash near Aztec

The initial investigation indicates a Ford pick traveling southbound on US 550 exited the roadway and overturned. The driver, Stanley Alan Hoyt (60) of Flora Vista, NM, was not properly wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Mr. Hoyt sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased on scene.

On October 8, 2018 around 1:00 p.m., New Mexico State Police investigated a single-vehicle fatal crash on US 550 at mile marker 168, north of Aztec, NM.

 

The initial investigation indicates a Ford pick traveling southbound on US 550 exited the roadway and overturned. The driver, Stanley Alan Hoyt (60) of Flora Vista, NM, was not properly wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Mr. Hoyt sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased on scene.

 

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in this crash. This crash remains under investigation. No further information is available.
