Fro San Juan Regional Medical Center:

San Juan Regional Medical Center is helping you fight the flu with free community vaccinations. Flu shot clinics will be offered at five different Four Corners locations in October and November. The free vaccinations are available for adults 18 and older and are provided on a first come, first served basis until supplies run out.

This year’s clinics will once again include the popular drive through option at San Juan Regional Medical Center’s north visitor parking lot. People planning to attend should wear short-sleeve shirts and be ready for their vaccine by the time their car reaches the nurse. This will help the process run smoothly and avoid long lines. There will be signs posted to help drivers find the parking lot, which is located at the corner of Maple Street and Schwartz Avenue. There is also a new clinic location this year, the Valley Fire Station in Kirtland.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone six months or older. It’s especially important for high-risk groups including children ages six months through four years; people 50 years or older; people with chronic diseases; and pregnant women.
