Man Arrested after Fatal Stabbing

The victim was immediately transported to the San Juan Regional Medical Center and later pronounced deceased. The victim's identity is not being released right now to allow for notification of the family.

Sunday, February 27, 2022

Farmington police arrested 29-year-old Farmington resident Brandon Curley today after a stabbing late Saturday night.


At approximately 11 p.m. on February 26, 2022, Farmington officers responded to a report of a stabbing near the 2300 block of Loon Street. Upon arrival officers located a 36-year-old male with a stab wound to his back. The victim was immediately transported to the San Juan Regional Medical Center and later pronounced deceased. The victim's identity is not being released right now to allow for notification of the family.  Through investigation, detectives identified Curley as the suspect and obtained a warrant for 2nd-degree murder. Curley was taken into custody today by Farmington detectives.

  • Resident Dies after House Fire N. of Aztec

    Crews arrived to find a structure on fire and the occupant inside.  Despite a quick response from fire crews and efforts by San Juan County Sheriff’s Deputies, one occupant was removed from the structure by firefighters and transported to the hospital by San Juan Regional Medical Center EMS. The occupant was pronounced dead at the hospital.
