In December 2025, Farmington Police Department officers arrested a suspect connected to a multi-day crime spree involving multiple felony offenses across the city.
The suspect, Fidel Curtis (26), is accused of committing numerous crimes, including auto burglaries, a commercial burglary, larceny, theft, unlawful use of debit and credit cards, criminal damage to property, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, and driving while license revoked.
Investigators linked several initially separate cases and identified Curtis as the suspect. He was later contacted by law enforcement in La Plata County, Colorado, following a crash involving a stolen vehicle. During the investigation, Curtis admitted to multiple crimes committed in Farmington, including incidents that had not yet been reported to police.
Curtis is facing a total of 19 charges, including multiple felony counts. The case remains under investigation.
The Farmington Police Department encourages residents to lock vehicles, remove valuables, and report suspicious activity to help reduce crimes of opportunity.
