Police: Farmington Child Abuse Suspect Killed in Home

Officers canvassed the area for the suspect; however, investigators believe the individual left the area prior to police arrival. The Farmington Police Department is releasing a video of a person of interest. The video shows a male on a bicycle headed east on Navajo Street towards Lincoln Avenue. The Farmington Police Department urges anyone with information or video surveillance from the area to contact detectives at 505-599-1068.

From Farmington Police:

The Farmington Police Department is actively investigating a homicide that occurred on February 26, 2025.

At approximately 7:58 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Auburn Avenue in response to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Patricia Madrid (36), who had been shot at a residence. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. The victim was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center and succumbed to her injuries.

No arrests have been made related to the homicide at this time. This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Further updates will be provided as more details become available.
