State Police say the pilot, Marvin Monroe Casey, 59, of Big Springs, TX was pronounced dead at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
New Mexico State Police say the pilot was the only person on board a single engine plane when it crashed Sunday afternoon south of Farmington.
Authorities were called to the scene in the area of County Road 7650 and NM Highway 371.

According to a flight plan filed , the plane Casey was in flown from Big Springs, TX to Halls Crossing, Utah on Friday morning.
