San Juan Regional Medical Center now has additional resources to provide our community with emergency medical flights, thanks to the addition of a second airplane to our AirCare fleet. AirCare 3 is a Pilatus PC-12 Legacy. It joins AirCare 1, a Bell 429 twin engine helicopter, and AirCare 2, a Pilatus PC-12 NGX, all owned by San Juan Regional Medical Center and operated by Air Methods.

AirCare has been providing emergency medical flights for our Four Corners community since its inception on October 15, 1986. Since then, AirCare has delivered life-saving care to close to 30,000 patients and safely traveled nearly seven million miles. AirCare is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) – ensuring the highest safety and customer care standards through a rigorous audit process.

“This is the culmination of several years of work and planning,” said Jason Rounds, President and CEO of SJRMC. “We are so grateful to have the opportunity to provide such a tremendous service with a far reach, delivering life-saving care day in and day out.”

“As your community hospital, we want you to know that we have invested the resources, education and training necessary to provide our community with the highest level of care,” said Robbie Donald, AirCare and Trauma Services Manager. “The addition of AirCare 3 gives us an even greater opportunity to give our best to our patients when they need us.”

San Juan Regional Medical Center’s AirCare service is a coordinated effort that takes numerous contributions and continued support of San Juan Regional Medical Center caregivers, the City of Farmington, San Juan County and area dispatchers. We look forward to continuing to work together to provide safe emergency medical flights for our community.
