Three Injured in Farmington Shooting, Suspect Arrested

It was discovered that several individuals had been injured. A juvenile sustained a graze wound, a 16-year-old was shot in the leg, and an 18-year-old was shot in the chest and transported to Albuquerque in critical condition. The vehicle involved in the crash is connected to the shooter. At this time, the shooter has been identified as an 18-year-old male.

On September 18, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Farmington Police officers were dispatched following multiple reports of a large fight in the street near the 700 block of Allen Avenue.

While officers were responding, an automated crash notification was also activated in the same area, and additional callers reported hearing multiple gunshots.

It was discovered that several individuals had been injured. A juvenile sustained a graze wound, a 16-year-old was shot in the leg, and an 18-year-old was shot in the chest and transported to Albuquerque in critical condition. The vehicle involved in the crash is connected to the shooter. At this time, the shooter has been identified as an 18-year-old male.

Officers recovered two firearms from the scene, both matching the caliber of casings located nearby.

Two residents of the home, Meshach Cayaditto (22) and Dominic Dawes (22), were arrested for Disorderly House or Social Host, with additional charges pending. No other arrests have been made at this time.

  • Police ID Suspect and Officers involved in Hines Rd. Shooting

    Upon arrival, officers observed a male and female walking who matched the provided descriptions. Officers gave commands for Leon Quintana (27) to place his hands on his head and walk backward toward them. During the encounter, Mr. Quintana hesitated and shifted his movements while officers continued giving commands. He then produced a firearm and fired a shot toward officers, striking an officer’s patrol car. A second shot was also fired.
